What is Surf Spain?
Surf Spain was founded in 2002 by Tom Coleman with the aim of becoming the Website to go to if you´re planning a surf trip to Spain.
Whether you're a complete beginner looking for a school where you can learn to surf safely or a more experienced surfer wanting to explore Spain's many amazing surf spots, we can help you get the most out of the experience.
Over the last 6 years we have dedicated ourselves to providing the best possible places to learn to surf in Spain, on the best beaches with excellent instructors, great accommodation, and all at an affordable price.
Surf Spain's Green Policy
At Surf Spain we take the Environment seriously. We believe that it is every surfer's responsibility to take care of the places we surf and love. For that reason, we have devoted ourselves to becoming front runners and forward- thinkers in green surf travel and marine conservation, working to preserve the beautiful ocean environments in which we practise our unique sport.
To give you an idea of some of the things we have been getting involved in over the past few years, we've outlined them for you on this page:
Donations to Environmental Organisations: In the last 6 years, since we started Surf Spain, 5% of all Surf Spain's profits have been donated to environmental organisations such as Surfers Against Sewage, the Surfrider Foundation and Greenpeace.
School's 'Save Our Seas' Environmental Workshops: With the help of local surfers, we have been visiting schools to discuss surfing related environmental issues and climate change.
Promoting Environmentally Friendly Products: For a list of the products and companies we consider to be doing the most to help keep our beaches (an world) a cleaner, happier place please take a look at our Green Products page.
'Green Grommets' Club: New for 2008 our Green Grommets club was launched in Asturias, giving local children the opportunity to get to the beach to surf and help out with beach cleaning or take part in protests, like the 'Save Rodiles' campaign.
A Paper-Free Office: The Surf Spain Offices don't use any paper for any of their communications or information sheets. Instead we try to keep everything Internet and digitally based. If you receive anything from us please try not to print it out.
Beach Cleaning: Our surf schools actively support beach cleaning sessions.
Supporting Local Economies: We work closely with local companies and individuals.
