Spain and the Canary Islands possibly receive more high quality swell than any other European country. Due to their unique position, if there's anything being produced in Northern Atlantic Ocean, it will probably arrive at a surf spot somewhere in Spain or the Canaries. Also, because they are outside of the normal paths of the low pressure systems that bring all their associated wind and rain, the swells often arrive as perfect, clean, long period waves.
